Record collector Jeff Gold writes about his acquisition of 149 original 10″ and 12″ acetates from a NYC studio. These works-in-progress hail from the production process of three Bob Dylan records: Nashville Skyline, Self Portrait, and New Morning. A very rare find, this cache of unreleased recordings include outtakes and mix variations that could easily have been lost in a dumpster. Thankfully, they were identified as a valuable archive and put into the hands of someone who knew how to handle them.
