We were lucky enough to have one of the premiere all-female Norteño groups, Rimel, at our offices for two exclusive performances, thanks in part to Hohner, H. Jimenez and Mapex! Originally from Mexico, they’ve made a huge impact on the scene there and have settled in Chicago, IL to hone their craft while planning to take their music internationally! The group is made up of sisters Letty, Shely, Tita, and Melen who play bajo quinto, accordion, bass, and drums respectively. In the videos, you’ll see Letty is front and center with her H. Jimenez bajo sexto, Shely is off to the right with her Hohner accordion, Tita with an H. Jimenez bass and Melen banging away on a Mapex drum kit. The four together are incredibly talented but don’t take our word for it: watch for yourself!
