As musicians, we all want to write and record the best sounding music possible. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to sift through the countless amount of gear that’s suggested to get a home studio up and running. Luckily, your friends at Tascam set out to remove the intimidation from the startup D.I.Y. producer with the Tascam Track Factory Project all in one recording bundle.
Track Factory Project Overview
Everything You Need to Start Recording Music
As I said, there is always a certain amount of hassle involved in building a studio. You need to get the right computer with the correct amount of this and that. You need an interface, but make sure it’s compatible with your software and OS. Now it’s time to download the drivers, and so on, and so forth. With Track Factory, everything you need is already preinstalled on the included computer. Drivers? Software? It’s all there!
The computer was designed to handle all of the onboard software efficiently. Some of the most notable specs are a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5-5250U processor with 3 MB of cache, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB M.2 solid-state drive, and customized Intel NUC mini-computer. All the power you need in a space saving little box.
Track Factory comes with the awesome US-2×2 interface!
- Ultra-HDDA mic/line preamps with up to 57dB of gain
- A 2×2 USB 2.0 interface with 96kHz/24-bit resolution
- XLR/1/4″ combination input jacks
- Zero-latency Direct Monitoring
- 125dBu EIN and 105dB S/N ratio
- Line out/headphone level controls
- MIDI I/O Connectors
- Angled aluminum design
Track Factory comes with the Tascam TM-80 Condenser Mic.
This is a medium-diaphragm cardioid condenser mic. A condenser is a great mic to have while you’re starting out because it’s great for vocals and instruments like an acoustic guitar. It comes with a shock-mounted stand and microphone clip; so, you’ll have everything you need to get it going right out of the box.
On top of all of this, Tascam includes their TH-02 headphones to the Track Factory bundle. A quality set of studio monitor headphones are essential for any home studio. One aspect that can be tricky during recording is mic bleed. You don’t want what you’ve already recorded slipping into the microphone because your headphones are feeding it that signal. Luckily, with the TH-02’s, you don’t have to worry. They are closed-back so that you can monitor your tracks with peace of mind.
The TH-02’s operate in a range of 18 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response so you’ll be able to hear all of your tracks clearly no matter the range. They also fold up; therefore, they are a compact and convenient choice for your home studio.
SONAR from Cakewalk comes preinstalled. This is a perfect Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) to get your studio up and running. It comes with Melodyne Pitch correction, Addictive Drums, and other Plugins, Effects and Loops. What this means is that right away you’re going to have a number of tools at your fingertips to make your tracks sound awesome, and your mix sound that much more professional.
They even give you the mouse and keyboard, along with tutorial videos right on the desktop.
Tascam’s Track Factory Project is the perfect tool for any music producer who wants to build their first home or project studio. It has everything you need in the box to get you going and start recording. Be sure to check it out as Sam Ash!
