Taylor Guitars has come out with the Taylor Builder’s Edition K14CE and it’s a knockout!
One of the key aspects of this guitar is the new V-Class bracing system which enhances the acoustic volume, intonation, and sustain on these guitars making them a step up from many guitars with the traditional X bracing. Now your playing will come off louder with your notes singing and holding longer than most guitars on the market, and it projects so well you can hear it just as well up close as you would standing 20 feet away! It’s needs to be heard and played to believe!
Visually, you have a torrefied Sitka spruce top allowing for the sound to resonate similar to a vintage acoustic guitar which results in a very warm and balanced tone. This guitar also has Hawaiian koa back and sides with a silent satin Kona burst finish that although subtle still looks fantastic. To top it all off, you also have the newly released Spring Vine inlay and a koa/paua trimming on the top and back.
Not only is it a beautiful sounding and looking guitar, but it’s arguably one of the most comfortable guitars on the market. With its beveled armrests and body edges, you don’t have to worry about the guitar digging into you allowing you to play longer than you normally would. Also, for those that like to play some of the higher notes on the guitar, the reshaped cutaway design allows you to play easily without cramping.
If you love the sound of koa tone woods but want something a little warmer, this guitar’s for you! All of this intricate craftsmanship and the genius behind the new V-Class bracing comes from the mind of master luthier Andy Powers so if you get one of these wonderful guitars, he’s the man to thank!
