Yamaha PSR-EW300 Portable Keyboard:Everything You Need To Know

Based on the famed Yamaha YPG-235, this portable grand piano is better than ever! Whether you’ve never laid your hands on a keyboard or you’re an experienced musician looking to simplify your rig, you’ll be able to use this piano with ease and unlock tons of tonal and songwriting possibilities!

Endless possibilities of sound and performance

With 76 touch-sensitive keys, you can play to your hearts content and never run out of room to play! Compare to previous models, the polyphony count has increased from 32 to 48 notes allowing you to sustain notes and run up and down the keyboard to have a wider range of sound without any dropped notes. Speaking of sounds, you have over 570 voices to choose from and over 150 accompaniment styles to play along to so you’ll never run out of ideas when songwriting. Velocity sensitive keys enable you to get more nuanced playing out of sounds like guitar and strings to add emphasis and unique traits to the sound you don’t get with many standard keyboard and arrangers at its price.

Built-in features

The PSR-EW300 also works as a fantastic teaching tool, either for yourself or a student; Duo Mode allows your keyboard to have the keyboard to have two halves that each have a middle C, which is great for duet performers or a teacher to teach their student on the same keyboard. If you like practicing at your own pace, the Yamaha Educational Suite (YES) allows you to practice at your own pace to preset songs and MIDI files so you can get your performance just right. You can also use Touch Tutor, which helps you perform your dynamics better by reading your velocity and strength while playing and correcting you to give you a more authentic and professional playing style. Lastly, there’s the Chord Dictionary which is fantastic to help teach you the chords and notation of the notes you’re playing to give you a real-time education on music theory.

Connect for more features

While the PSR-EW300 has tons of features at the ready, there are even more features to access simply by plugging a cable into it! Thanks to its USB port, you can record audio and midi to your computer or smart device and start songwriting right away. If you download the Yamaha Audio Recorder app, you can connect your smart device to the keyboard to either record onto the app or playback audio from the app to the keyboard and hear crystal clear audio through the PSR-EW300’s fantastic stereo speakers. With the built-in auxiliary input, you can play along to whatever is playing on your portable music player or smart device. Another Yamaha app, Sound Controller, allows you to enable extra controls to manipulate your tone while performing such as bending notes with synth sounds.
