Yamaha StagePas BT Portable PA Systems: Everything You Need to Know

The STAGEPAS PA System from Yamaha has been a staple of the portable PA market for years. Perfect for rehearsal spaces and small events, the current generation of STAGEPAS PA Systems are the most flexible yet. The new BT series takes the popular 400i and 600i systems and incorporates Bluetooth technology, making it even more convenient than its predecessors. Designed with simplicity in mind, both STAGEPAS-BT models feature a hookup diagram, so even a novice with no live sound experience can get up and running right away. Let’s take a closer look at the BT Series and see what it has to offer.

All-in-One Portable PA System:

The STAGEPAS-BT is a super portable, all-in-one system that includes everything you need right out of the box. There are two models available; the 400BT and 600BT. Included with each are two lightweight speakers, a detachable powered mixer, a pair of speaker cables and a power cord. Everything combines together into a compact package that can be easily transported to any gig or event. The included speakers are speaker stand mountable and will fit on most standard size speaker stands. StageLok technology will keep these speakers locked in place, so you don’t have to worry about them being knocked out of position.

Bluetooth® Wireless Audio Streaming:

Bluetooth integration takes the STAGEPAS system to a whole new level. Use this feature to easily play backing tracks at a gig or take the reins as DJ at your party, conference or event. Simply sync up your smartphone or tablet with the push of a button and you’re good to go. You can control the volume from your device or by using the on board channel and master volume controls to find that perfect balance.

SPX Digital Reverb:

The 400BT and 600BT each offer four types of reverb. You have your choice of Plate, Hall, Room and Echo. A single knob allows you to dial in the type of reverb and the timing of the effect. Once you’ve found the right style for the occasion, you can dial in how much reverb each of the four XLR channels will get. This is a great feature for vocals and acoustic instruments. With an optional footswitch, you can also mute these effects as well.

1-Knob Master EQ:

This is a great feature and makes the STAGEPAS-BT systems one of the more flexible systems on the market. Seated right next to the master volume, the 1-Knob Master EQ takes your signal and shapes it to match your sound to your surroundings. There are three sections: Speech, Music and Bass Boost. Start at Speech for public speaking, poetry readings, spoken word performances, things of that nature. Move to the Music section for live musical performances. If you are using the STAGEPAS-BT to play music at a party or event, the bass boost section will push the low-end and make sure that your music fills the room. Using this in combination with the on board EQ controls (2-band EQ on 400BT/3-band EQ on 600BT) really gives you complete control over your final mix.

Feedback Suppressor:

One of the biggest problems that plagues live sound engineers is feedback. The 400BT and 600BT both feature a built-in Feedback Suppressor. If you start experiencing feedback and there’s no way to get rid of it, simply press the button located right above the Master Volume control and this intelligent function will remove the feedback automatically. This feature, along with the built-in limiter, will guarantee even the most inexperienced user a problem free event.
